Bethany’s Gait
Youth Ranch & Horse Rescue

Bethany's Gait is a non-profit ranch dedicated to "rescuing horses and children together." The horses at Bethany's Gait have been rescued from abuse or neglect or come to the ranch from folks who can no longer afford to care for them. Most of the children who come to the ranch are broken and hurting. Some are foster children, others are dealing with depression or anxiety and still others are struggling to stay sober after falling into the depths of drug abuse. The organization brings the horses and children together through their ranch program, which teaches the kids how to care for the horses; through equine assisted psychotherapy, a unique therapy approach using the horses as therapists, and through equine assisted learning, a fun way to learn using the horses as teachers. The program is run almost entirely by volunteers who give their time graciously to help the horses and kids thrive at Bethany's Gait.
